Before I walked with God I was afraid to fail. I was afraid to try new things because of my
active anxiety; what if people saw and mocked me? Doubt would settle into my mind, and I
would ultimately give up. With a mindset like this you stop yourself from experiencing the
wonderful things God has placed before you. I had a hard time accepting myself. I sought approval for everything I did; all I needed in life was God’s approval not mans. I stopped doing the activities I had once enjoyed, because of the reactions I had previously received. When you first begin a new hobby you will not be the best, but with practice and patience you will hone your craft.
The talent you could have but are too afraid to try, place it before God and you will flourish.
When you block yourself from allowing God to work within you you are essentially blocking
your own happiness. With God the world opens up; the impossible ceases to exist. Trying new activities does not mean you will be great at everything, there is always room for improvement, it means you are ready for new positive adventures.
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” – Psalm 34:4
Failure is just a foot in the door to be the best. Failure is not something to be upset over either, with a humble heart you will find what you are good at. Trying new activities leads to more knowledge about yourself; what you are good at, and what you do not enjoy doing. Trying ten things and finding one thing you are good at is okay. Do not let failure stop you from endeavoring new hobbies. Let everyday of life be a new positive experience, do not settle for less. You are a child of God who only deserves the best.
