Hello everyone and welcome to Makeup 101!
Today I wanted to share a few tips to make sure you pick out the right foundation. Now, I may not be an expert (yet that is) but I have learned a few things about picking out the best foundation, and came up with Makeup 101!
Taking the time to read the labels is so important, specially if you’re looking for something specific. Matte and dewy foundations are totally different, the packaging’s are so similar most of the time you can’t tell the difference until you read the label.
Swatching the product into your hand and comparing it next to your face to figure out whether the color is right is very important, don’t rush in doing this, grab different shades and pick the closest one to your skin tone.
Knowing your skin
If you have dry skin, the best foundation for you is a foundation with a dewy finish. You could also get a matte foundation and use a setting spray that gives you a dewy finish.
If you have normal to oily skin your best bet is a matte foundation.
As I said before make sure to read the label and revise that it’s exactly the coverage you’re looking for. Keep in mind that if you buy a medium coverage you can always build up the coverage by applying more layers.
Here’s a tool to help you find the right foundation just for you. That’s all for today, until next time!
