My Life Story of the Past!
My name is Justin Ortega, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Anaheim California. While growing up, I didn’t get attention from my family and this led me to look for “attention” outside of my home. I wanted attention from girls and friends and I began to do drugs. I was addicted to cocaine, marijuana, crystal meth, and all sorts of pills. There wasn’t one day where I didn’t consume drugs. I tried all kinds of drugs, which caused me to lose all those around me who cared for me. It got to a point that I needed to have higher dosages of the drugs because I didn’t feel the effect anymore. I became aggressive both at home and in school. When I would get home, I would physically fight with my older brother with punches to the face. We would fight until one of us was bleeding, and then the police would arrive.
After the Youth Power Group!
In the YPG, I learned that drugs can’t bring satisfaction or peace inside of me. I lived through many things, but I came to realize the importance of life and of being a youth. It is not about having temporary fun with girls and drugs, but of receiving true happiness. This true happiness I was only able to find in the YPG.
I have true happiness and I value my life. I don’t need temporary things to be happy. In the YPG I was able to find my true family and friends.
